Matthew is a seasoned commercial & civil litigator, as well as an experienced employment solicitor. He works alongside the company and commercial team handling any corporate disputes as well as his civil portfolio. He currently manages a growing team , training and supervising our trainee solicitors.
Matthew brought experience, commerciality and dynamics to the litigation team. He is working alongside Karen Holden, the founder, on complex international and High Court cases, as well as leading all the active commercial and civil disputes. Having worked on a wide range of cases of high value and complex nature within the County Court and High Court, his disciplines include Professional Negligence, Civil Litigation, Property Litigation, Employment Law, Contentious Probate, Insolvency and Commercial Disputes.
He recently settled a large dispute for a client (Sir esq) that took 2 years to come to fruition, but the result was exactly what the client needed. He is currently addressing a complex arbitration case between an insurance company and BVI Trust with property ; construction; land law; negligence and health and safety components.
Matthew has acted for individuals and professional clients in pursuing or defending Professional Negligence and a range of general litigation cases. Whether acting as the Claimant or Defendant solicitor, his pragmatic approach and swift understanding of the pertinent issues within the case have assisted him in acting for individuals in pursuing their professional negligence claim against solicitors, accountants, architects and financial advisors. Matthew has also acted for professional indemnity insurers in defending such claims. His clients are often comment positively on his supportive approach and ability to focus on the issues at hand in order to seek the desired resolution.
Our litigation department understands what is required to win a range of claims and contentious issues. We advise our client as to when it is opportune to settle the case and do not lose focus of our client’s needs.
Matthew also conducts Employment Law cases for our clients can provide tailored, effective and commercial advice to both companies and individuals in cases of discrimination, unfair dismissal and breach of contract.
After obtaining his degree at the University of Surrey, Matthew completed his Legal Practice Course in 2011. Matthew joined ACLF in July 2018. Given his experience in litigation and dispute resolution he intends to continue this career pathway and will look to qualify as a mediator in the coming years.
