Subject to where the surrogacy arrangement has been carried out, you may already have a birth certificate with you and your partner named as intended parents. Please note this is not recognised in the UK when you return. You need to apply for a parental order in order to then obtain a UK birth certificate. You can then use this to register your child for a national insurance number and other UK benefits
